使い方

  • southwest of の形

    「A is southwest of B」は「AはBの南西にある」という意味です。方角だけを言うときは、通常 of の前に the を入れません。例: Kyoto is southwest of Tokyo.

  • 地域名として使うとき

    特定の有名な地域を指すときは The Southwest のように大文字で書くことがあります。一般的に「南西部」と言うだけなら the southwest of the country のように小文字で使います。

  • southwest と southwestern

    southwest は名詞・形容詞・副詞として使えます。southwestern は主に「南西部の」という形容詞で、地域の特徴や所属を表すときによく使います。例: southwestern Japan（日本の南西部）。

よくある間違い
