使い方

  • smile と laugh の違い

    smile は声を出さずに「にっこり笑う」ことが多く、laugh は声を出して「あははと笑う」ことを表します。

  • smile at someone の形

    「人にほほえみかける」は smile at someone と言います。日本語の「〜に」につられて smile to someone と言うのは不自然な場合が多いです。

よくある間違い

  • 誤: She smiled to me.

    正: She smiled at me.

    「私にほほえみかけた」は通常 smile at me と言います。

  • 誤: He made a smile.

    正: He smiled.

    動作として「笑顔を見せた」はシンプルに smiled と言うのが自然です。名詞を使うなら He gave a smile. も可能です。
