使い方

  • 目的語を直接つなげる

    disobey は他動詞として使うことが多く、disobey the law や disobey orders のように、to を入れずに目的語を直接続けます。

  • 強い否定的な意味

    disobey は単に「しない」ではなく、「従うべきものに反して従わない」という意味なので、少し硬く、責任や非難を含むことがあります。

よくある間違い

  • 誤: He disobeyed to the rules.

    正: He disobeyed the rules.

  • 誤: She didn't obeyed the order.

    正: She didn't obey the order.

    didn't の後は動詞の原形を使います。ただし disobeyed を使えば She disobeyed the order. と言えます。
